Qualifications

David Mathews has been a consulting archaeologist for the past 11 years. As a Senior Project Manager his focus is on large, complex projects, showcasing a strong capacity to work with clients to ensure cultural heritage outcomes that are robust in the regulatory environment.

David specialises in the design and supervision of subsurface archaeological assessments of sensitive archaeological sites. He has a high level of expertise in synthesising the results of meticulous desktop and archival research with complex data resulting from fieldwork. He has specialised experience in post-excavation management and technical document production.

David has been an integral part of the Andrew Long + Associates team since 2006,  bringing a proactive, client focused approach to all projects. He has worked on a number of high profile projects whilst at Andrew Long + Associates with both government and private sector clients, demonstrating a committed focus to excellence and efficiency.

David's wealth of experience in the management of cultural heritage projects ensures that timely delivery of best practice outcomes are guaranteed. His reliability and focus on positive results see him as a valued key player in any team he is a part of.

David is a registered cultural heritage advisor under the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006 (Vic), and a member of the Australian Archaeological Association.
