Our Services

Geographical Information Services (GIS)

Most of our reports use GIS to produce high-quality, accurate maps and plans. In addition, any cultural heritage identified during a project requires formal reporting and/or registration, which must meet strict standards for spatial data and mapping. Certain projects, such as ones in sensitive areas, can also benefit from more targeted spatial analysis and the creation of site-based predictive models

What is a Geographic Information System (GIS)?
A GIS is a computer-based tool that enables the storage, display, and analysis of almost any type of data that is linked to a real-world location.
What is a Geographic Information System (GIS) used for?
A GIS can integrate various types of geographic data, such as aerial imagery, old maps, environmental data, cadastral information, design plans, UAV survey data, and other survey data, to produce accurate maps or plans, to identify patterns and relationships, and to create new spatial data.
How are Geographic Information Systems (GIS) used in Cultural Heritage Management?
As well as creating maps and data for reporting and registration, a GIS can investigate the distribution of data to produce models that can indicate the likelihood of the presence of cultural heritage, such as artefacts.
